Why The Media Production Show?
We exhibited at the first Media Production Show last year and found the people we were talking to were altogether more relevant, more serious and more experienced than other similar shows and exhibitions we have taken part in. We also wanted to let people know about the improvements to our larger studio 1.
How was it?
For us it was another great show. We certainly made a lot of new connections – so thank you for that. We scanned lots of interested customers so we can establish a work relationship with some talented Directors, Producers, cameramen and everyone else who expressed some interest in our London studios.
It also came as no surprise to us how appealing our Magic Monday offer is for our larger studio. Many of you wondered: “Why Monday?”, and as we explained, it’s because our experience tells us Monday’s aren’t great for big productions – have you ever tried to do some last minute organisation with colleagues on a Sunday?!
We arranged some studio visits (find out why a recce is important here) and yes, we even got some immediate bookings for some intriguing productions coming up.
What made it fun!
One of our favourite parts of the show was making connections with people in the industry who live near Camberwell – turns out it’s a popular area for people in production! Many of them commented on how competitive our prices are given how close to central London we are, and we take pride in that!
We managed to bump into some regular clients and some well-known faces over the course of the two days. Here I am with Roy Benson who edited The Beatles Film: “The Magical Mystery Tour” in 1967.
I particularly enjoyed having a nose around some new production equipment. It is always good to take a look at the latest lighting, cameras and other technical innovations – live streaming is all the rage it seems.
We didn’t get to any of the seminars because we forgot to book but every one was booked out – so more fool us. But we did take full advantage of the free pick ‘n’ mix that was being given out!
Will we see you there next year? Incase you missed us…
